An Italian art critic once wrote that contemporary artists and Pop Art artists from USA are more free to express them selves compared to Europeans, and specifically Italian born artists. The reason is that Italians have a long history and a very different background, influenced by Ancient Greek Mythology, the Roman Imperium, Renaissance and Baroque periods. Well, I agree with this theory. For example, the magical art of Pompei, famous for the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius, has become a powerful inspiration for my paintings. After Caravaggio, Naples became a popular destination for writers, artist and musicians from the Grand Tour during the 18th century. until now days. This inspiration has followed me through life's rich journey.
